Dele Alli broke his silence after a shameful substitution in the 29th minute at Besiktas.
The 26-year-old former Tottenham and England hero joined the Turkish giants in the summer after a bad spell at Everton.
Trying to rebuild his faltering career, Alli started brilliantly with a goal in his second league game before a hip problem sidelined him.
Since then, however, things have gone wrong for the 2019 Champions League finalist.
He failed to score a goal or assist in his five league games before the World Cup break.
Then, when he returned to the field in a cup match against third team Şanlıurfasport, he was sent off BEFORE the half hour mark on Wednesday.
However, despite this week’s embarrassment, he has taken to social media to insist that his love of football will ensure he never gives up.
Alli posted on his Instagram a picture of him holding the ball tightly to his chest during training at Besiktas.
He captioned the photo: “You saved my life. That’s why I will always love you.”
Alli was replaced by fellow former Spurs player Gedson Fernandes as one of the first two changes made by manager Senol Gounes, and fans seemed to boo him as he left the field.

At the time of the substitutions, Besiktas Alli was losing 2-0, as a stunning defeat was expected.
But an impressive fight in the second half saw the top team turn the tide and secure a 4-2 victory.
Recently, the sports director of Besiktas, Jeyhun Kazanji, criticized Alli for a bad game.
Kazanji said TRT Sport: “No one can answer if Dele Alli can do it right now.
“He works very hard. He is a player who reached 100 million euros (87 million pounds) three years ago. He had a fall.
“Dele Alli is working hard. We had tense negotiations with him before we signed him.
“Senol [Gunes] known for the return of many players whose careers have declined.
“We hope he will be better in the second half of the season.”
