During the festive period, he was taken to the hospital along with his wife Sian.

Sian told her Twitter followers that they were at A&E, but didn’t elaborate on why.

This came a few months after Rod revealed he was being treated at the Welindre Cancer Center in Wales.

Now he told The keeper about his condition, admitting that he is often speechless.

He said, “It’s really weird. I don’t know how much to talk about cancer.

“I haven’t thought of what to say yet. Now I am really aware of mental health and check myself every day.

“Oddly enough, I feel good. I am happy, optimistic and hope that next year everything will be fine.”

Rod, who postponed his The Book Of John tour due to his diagnosis, added: “When I’m done with this, the next show will be in the same vein.

“I think about cancer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but when I feel good enough to write, I write down a few things.

“And there’s definitely some humor in it.”
