Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf suggested that N’Golo Kante step down due to his hellish injury.
The French midfielder has only played two games this season.
He started the first two games of the Premier League campaign before suffering a hamstring problem.
The Chelsea midfielder was then forced to miss out on France’s qualification to the World Cup final.
And at age 31, Leboeuf said retirement was an option for Kante.
He said Safe Betting Sites: “I haven’t spoken to Kante directly about his physical form and how he feels, but it may be that he is nearing the end. [his career].
“Because the point is that we must understand that we are talking about a person.
“Suddenly your body says ok, that’s enough, leave me alone.”
Leboeuf argued that if Kante’s body was telling him, then he should resign.
This is despite reports that Kante is looking to sign a pre-contract with Barcelona in January for a summer transfer when his Chelsea contract expires.

Leboeuf added: “The end of your career is also part of your career and you have to choose the right moment to give up.
“Even if you don’t want to, and even if your football is great and you want to continue.
“You should make people jealous, not pity. Therefore, you must make your own decision. [regarding retirement].
“You should talk to your family and say maybe it’s over.
“So I don’t know his form, but if he feels he can serve Chelsea well, he should stay.”
Kante has made 262 appearances for Chelsea since moving from Leicester in 2016.
