GOOGLE makes it easy for Fitbit users with a brand new feature.
Some devices can finally access Google Maps on their wrist.
This means handy step-by-step instructions when you’re out and about.
It arrives for Fitbit Sense 2 and Fitbit Versa 4.
The lack of support has been a huge hole since the pair launched in August.
Those who have an Android smartphone can get it right now.
iPhone owners using one of the Fitbits won’t be left out either, though you’ll have to wait a bit.
Support is expected to arrive for you in early 2023.
Android users who want to start using it just need to open the Fitbit app on their smartphone.
Go to the App Gallery and follow the instructions to add Google Maps.
The documentation on the Fitbit website shows exactly what you can do.
One handy feature is autoplay.
When enabled, the Google Maps app will automatically open on your Fitbit when you disable navigation on your phone.
By default, it is on for bike and walk navigation, and off for car navigation.
As expected, routes can be viewed and paused on the Fitbit itself.
And once the journey is completed, it will show the activity summary.
Google Maps on your Fitbit will only work for walking, cycling, and driving directions.
So you can’t use it for public transport.
Other important things to note as your phone is controlled via Bluetooth and the Fitbit device must remain within range at all times.

Google completed its takeover of Fitbit last January in a $2.1 billion deal.
