LORD Sugar laughed yesterday that his sexy cast is more suited to Love Island than The Apprentice.
The mogul joked, “I could answer that question if I ever watched Love Island, but I didn’t.”
He is ready to welcome 18 new candidates to the board of directors in search of a business partner.
When asked what influence he has in the group, Alan replied: “Pretty much. It’s a very rigorous process that we go through, which includes making sure that people can withstand the pressure that I put on them.
“And obviously I can dive deep into their resumes. We have 6,000 people auditioning, but this is the first time they’ve seen me in the boardroom.”
Lord Sugar signed on for two more episodes of The Apprentice after the last installment – the 17th in a row – but said he would be “glad” to make it to 20.
This year’s episode is dedicated to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the BBC, where the creators promise that Alan will be seen “in a form never seen before.”
It will air during the most turbulent economic backdrop in the show’s history.
But Lord Alan has one piece of advice for businesses struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.
He added: “Keep your head up and keep going. Stay focused, stay honest, and you’ll get through the other end.”
In the first episode, candidates will be thrown into the abyss of a trip to the Caribbean, where they have been tasked with creating and selling tours for tourists.
Alan explained: “Last year, Covid limited us in what we could and could not do due to health warnings. So this year we decided… let’s come back with a big success.
“So I said, ‘Let’s go to some great place to get a really good start.’ You should have seen the faces of the candidates when I said to them: “Your first task is correct, you are going to Antigua”, this is wonderful.
“Also, for the viewers, it will be a great start to the process.”
The tycoon also revealed that five students became millionaires after receiving his support.
