A money-saving fanatic claims to have figured out a way to wash dishes without turning on the hot water faucet.
Mountains of dirty dishes will pile up as the holiday season gets under way.
But as the crisis exacerbates the cost of living, many Britons will be thinking about the cost of washing cutlery with hot water.
TikToker @costoflivingcrisistips knows firsthand the sacrifices being made by households across the country.
That’s why he shares helpful hacks to save money on your bills and cut down on household expenses.
Sharing his latest tip, the budgeting buff told his 80,000 followers how they can be energy savvy.
He explained that people can save money on dishwashing after they make a storm in the kitchen.
The video shows TikToker filling a container with cold tap water.
Money-saving enthusiasts advised viewers to put it in the oven after you’ve used it for cooking.
Even though the appliance is not turned on, the heat still remains inside, which then heats the water.
The frugal content creator added, “In a few minutes it will be hot enough to wash the dishes.”
He then films himself pouring hot water into a dishwashing basin in preparation for a dish battle.
Social media users were impressed with the advice and bombarded the comments section with praise.
One wrote: “Love this, but sad advice like this should even exist.”
Another added: “Dishwashers use less water and are much more efficient than washing dishes by hand, but if you don’t have one, great!”
The third one said, “Great idea!”
And a fourth joked, “Did anyone else think they turn off the oven to get takeout?”
Others have shared their own suggestions for using the heat of a stove, such as leaving the door open to warm their home.
But TikToker was forced to reiterate its point after some users asked why it didn’t just boil the kettle.
He replied: “Guys, this advice is for those who have used the oven for cooking.

“Don’t put a stove just to heat water. Use warmth.”
