A sporty button-down shirt can make any woman feel professional and sophisticated, until she notices that annoying chest gap.
One wealthy fashionista shared her favorite ways to style business attire for larger busts, and you can use her tricks to spruce up your wardrobe.
On her YouTube channel, Lucy Stokes creates brief fashion lessons designed to help viewers put together their perfect outfits.
In a recent video, Stokes shared the clothing hacks she uses to fit items from her wardrobe to fit her ample bust.
“If you want your shirt to fit around your waist, you’ve got all the gaping holes,” Stokes said, showing the slits at her own waist. button down shirt and demonstrating the problem faced by many women.
Stokes uses three different hacks to make sure her button-down shirts fit properly. The first changes the neckline of the shirt, creating a delicate, feminine look that also exposes a little more skin.
To start, Stokes said, locate where your shirt begins to gape. It can be right under the bust or down the torso.
“Unzip your Shirt to the point of tension,” Stokes instructed. “Then pull it back like a V-neck.”
Depending on your bust size and the type of shirt you wear, this could be a V-neck, a sweetheart neckline, or a wide crew neck.
You can refuel shirt fabric in place, or secure the folds with fashionable tape to secure the neckline in place.
“Another piece of advice is criss-cross,” Stokes said.
If the v-neck tip doesn’t suit you, you might like this one.
“It’s kind of the other way around.”
It also shows significantly less skin than the previous hack, so if you’re after a more modest look, this vintage style is the way to go.
“Unbutton the buttons at the bottom. Pick up the ends Shirt from the stress point,” Stokes instructed.
She lifted the two “tails” of her shirt, then wrapped them around her body, pressing the left corner to her right hip and the right corner to her left.
“Tuck them in, criss-crossing, and you create a faux-wrap shirt,” she continued.
As a result, you should get a neat, tight tuck along the bottom of the body, and there should not be gaping or wide holes along the chest.
Stokes moved on to her latest breakout for a perfect fit every time. Instead of changing your current wardrobe, you will change the way you shop.
“Biggest tip: fitted men’s shirts” Stokes said.
Stokes added that you are not embarrassed by the nickname “masculine” – a fitted shirt should fit perfectly on your body.
“They are made big and wide at the shoulders and chest and tapering at the waist,” she explained.
After changing into a pale pink button-down shirt, Stokes turned around and showed off a perfectly flat row of buttons.
“Watch!” she said proudly. “I’m all buttoned up and no gaps!”

You can go to the men’s section of your favorite clothing store and try on shirts there, or change in your partner’s or girlfriend’s wardrobe — in a comment, Stokes said she borrows shirts from her husband.
The best men’s size for you may not be what you expect, so be prepared to adjust your expectations and try on a few shirts to find the perfect fit.
