HELEN Skelton lashed out at the judges on Dancing with the Stars ahead of the show’s finale.
The Countryfile presenter, 39, has reached the final of the BBC One competition and will compete for the Glitterball Trophy with her dance partner Gorka Marquez, 32, in a dazzling show on Saturday night.
However, the broadcaster shrugged off any disappointment that he didn’t receive a sell-out 40 from judges Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke, and 10 from Craig Revel Horwood.
Asked if she hoped for a sold-out final, she replied, “I would love to get 40, but I feel like we already had 40.
“Respectfully, I take into account what the judges say, I respect what they say.
“But really for me what I get 40 is to come to the Claudia area and you have people like Karen, Lyuba, Katya, they all go crazy and this is our 40.
You know, Johannes. When they say things like that, that reaction is worth 60, 70, 80 to me.”
Speaking about not having to dance for 12 weeks, the former Blue Peter host said, “Yes, that’s a huge compliment and we’re very grateful.
“I think for us the messages that we get every week are pretty overwhelming and quite humiliating, and I didn’t really think about not dancing until this week. And I said flippin’ hell.
“So yeah, that’s something I’ll take as a huge compliment!”
Meanwhile, Helen, who will compete for victory with cinematographer Hamza Yasin, CBBC host Molly Rainford, 22, and singer Fleur East, 35, described how she and Gorka have already won in her eyes.
She added: “I love the fact that we are here and the fact that we are smiling and having a good time.
“And, you know, we’ve been spending all day together every day for the last three months, and we’re still friends, we’re still laughing and joking.
“And I have the biggest bank of wonderful memories for me and my family, and that’s a win for me.”
It comes after mother-of-three Helen was left heartbroken earlier this year when her husband Richie Myler, 32, left when their daughter Elsie was just four months old.
And just a few days before the finale, Helen stated that the magic of the ballroom had transformed her after the “challenge”.
She said, “I definitely gained confidence on this dance floor.
“It was about being cocky and strong and in control, and it’s wonderfully liberating for anyone when they feel in control.

“It was a wonderful release just to be happy in your own skin and your own shoes.”
Helen added, “I feel like we’ve already won, the fact that we’re smiling and having a good time and I have the biggest bank of wonderful memories for me and my family and that’s a win for me.”
