HEARTS have reportedly agreed to sign Vissel Kobe star Yaturo Oda.
A Japanese striker will soon be announced to strengthen Robbie Neilson’s squad.
The name Vissel Kobe may sound familiar to you.
This is because that is where Celtic have recently signed two players.
Kyogo Furuhashi and Yuki Kobayashi switched from Kobe to Parkhead.
Most recently, the Hoops raided the J-League club to bring high-ranked defenseman Kobayashi to Parkhead last month.
And now Hearts seems to be following the same plan.
japanese sports publication, Hoticlaim that the Jumbo have already agreed a deal for striker Yutaro Oda.
They say he’s going to join in January.
They said: “Yutaro Oda will be transferred to the Scottish first division team Hearts.
“Officers say it will be announced soon.”
But in their report, they also decided to make an interesting comparison with the person rumored to be Hearts soon.
They compared the Hearts’ intended target to France star Kylian Mbappé, who had just scored a hat-trick in the World Cup final.
They added, “Oda, who comes from the junior organization, is a striker with a height of 181 centimeters and excellent speed.
“When he was young, when videos of the Japanese national teams by age group were uploaded to video sites, he was called the ‘Japanese Mbappe’ due to his size and playing style similar to the French striker Mbappe.”
Robbie Neilson also confirmed that he is looking for reinforcements ahead of the Kilmarnock game.
He said, “We don’t want to commit ourselves completely to one (player).
“We will add to the team, but we will also move a few players to reduce the size of the team.”
