CHRISTMAS heads to ITV’s namesake village, but that won’t stop any drama from stirring things up.
Two Emmerdale villagers are in suspense when it becomes clear that their secrets could be revealed and have devastating consequences.
1 Charity Arrested
Before residents can enjoy the Christmas celebrations they may have planned, there will be a big brawl in Yorkshire.
In recent scenes, Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) was bloodied by Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) after Chas’ affair with Al Chapman finally came to light.
However, her feud with Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamison) spirals out of control and escalates during baby Esther’s christening.
To make matters worse, Charity will be arrested for a fight that broke out during this week’s event.
It all starts when Chloe Harris (Jesse Elland) and her sister Amy get into a confrontation over Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Charity.
They soon hurt Charity the wrong way by arguing.
Despite this, Chas tries to keep the peace by inviting them to a christening, which doesn’t impress Charity.
Charles Anderson begins the service, but Charity can’t help it, and her feud with Amy puts the christening in jeopardy.
The ceremony breaks down when Charity and Amy continue to argue, and a violent fight soon ensues.
PC Swirling is forced to intervene after witnessing the fiasco.
When both perpetrators testify, the police arrest Charity.
2 Mac’s Secret Revealed
After spending the night with Chloe Harris, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) was on pins and needles, mortified that she would tell his partner Charity that he was the father of her child.
Unfortunately for the hottie, his own friend Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) actually attacked him.
After an argument with the owner of the Woolpack, Amy heals a bruised wrist from an argument with Charity, and Chloe doesn’t understand how things have escalated.
Charity is released after her arrest and confronts Mackenzie forcefully, but he has more on his mind than she realizes.
The Heartbreaker turns to Chloe again and tries to get her to change her statement.
But things don’t go as planned and Chloe is left in the cold.
When he sees Mac’s reaction, Nate begins to suspect that something is wrong.
Will he put two and two together?
3. Chloe becomes homeless
Somewhere in the Dales, while her mother Kerry Wyatt is away, Chloe Harris relies on the hospitality of her sister Amy.
But it soon ends after Amy’s fight with Charity Dingle.
Chloe, worried that the latter might end up in jail, tries to convince Amy to understand the reason behind her false statement to the police.
However, Amy doesn’t move and instead lashes out at Chloe, telling her to move out again.
A worried Chloe is defeated as she knows she has nowhere to live for Christmas.
She soon lies to Amy that she has found a home for herself.
Later, Amy is overcome with guilt at the thought of kicking Chloe out.
4. Kyle confesses
Meanwhile, Kyle Winchester (Hughi Quinn) collapses under pressure as he tries to keep his involvement in Al Chapman’s death a secret.
And while his father Kane Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) remains in jail, Kyle is watched closely by Moira and his mother Amy Wyatt.
But it’s just as hard for both of them to return to a seemingly normal life.
Approaching, a couple of women discuss bringing Kyle and Isaac to the glee event, while Amy worries about losing sight of her son.
Later, the family enters the town hall and is imbued with a festive spirit.
But when Amy and Moira lose Kyle for a split second, they later see him talking to computer Swirling about Cain.
In a panic, they swoop in before anything is revealed, but the cop realizes something is wrong and is concerned about their nervous behavior.
Amy and Moira are desperate to find out what Kyle said to PK Swirling, but end up only upsetting him more.
They quickly hatch a plan to give the boy the best Christmas ever, trying to take his mind off things and get his life back on track.
However, in private, Amy struggles to pull herself together and the pressure on a stunned Moira also mounts.
5. Cain receives a disturbing letter
Jailed after pleading guilty to the murder of Al Chapman, Kane Dingle is isolated from his loved ones.
This week, while in a prison cell, an officer hands Cain several letters from someone who wrote to him often during his imprisonment.
But Cain is not interested, and as soon as the prison guard is out of sight, he will tear the letter.
The mysterious man may have found another way to contact him.
When Moira pays him a visit and reveals that Isaac and Kyle received two Christmas presents from an unknown person, Cain hides his concern.
She then informs him that she left his mother Faith’s Christmas card for the security guard.
However, Cain later ignores it when it is passed to him, unprepared for its contents.
Instead, he asks for a phone call before being left on his toes as a guard tells him he’ll see what he can do.
Cain eventually gets what he wants and is seen talking on the phone to a mysterious man in the prison corridor.
The prison officer looks at Cain, who is forced to lower his voice.
But his irascible nature is shown once more when he is rejected by the person on the other end of the line and hangs up.
