McGregor has been hard at work in the gym recovering from a horrific injury and looks set to return to the octagon early next year.

But White has no timeline for his return, which he insists is not tied to former Bellator champion Michael Chandler.

The MMA mogul said: “I never said that, not once.

“That’s what happens when you do an interview and people listen to your interviews.

“They said, ‘So if Conor McGregor were back right now, who would you consider as an opponent?’

“I said, ‘Well, if he did that, if that happened, and that scenario played out right now, the Chandler fight would be fun.’

“I never fucking said Conor McGregor vs Chandler.

“I don’t even know when Conor McGregor will return. That’s why I don’t like answering questions like this.

“Because some fucking idiot wrote somewhere on the Internet that this is what I said, and it doesn’t even remotely match what I said.”

McGregor must first re-enter the US Anti-Doping Agency testing pool for at least six months before he can return to action.

The former bi-division champion stated last month: “I am free to test in February.

“I’ll pass two USADA tests and we’ll schedule a fight.”

While White has no match for McGregor, the Irishman hopes to be back in action before spring.

The first two-weight UFC world champion said: “Hopefully I’ll be back soon.
