Last night, a hotel near Lambert International Airport was evacuated after someone started several fires in the building.
CFDC reported that brigades from several fire departments had arrived at the St. Louis Marriott in Edmundson around 5:00 pm.
Six fires burned at one location in the building, at least one of which officials said started in the hotel’s human resources department. It is reported by Fox 2 News.. The doors leading to the stairs were open, allowing smoke to rise from floor to floor.
No injuries were reported. Most of the guests were able to get out of the cold and return to their rooms. Some had to be relocated to other hotels.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating. Authorities report that they have identified the person concerned, who fled the scene and is not in custody.
